Join By Letter

Letter for membership in the church (from a church in the same demoniation). Read more about the Membership Process.

  • Requirement:
  • Recording Decision
    • Select Letter as the Decision Type
    • Select a Date
    • Click Save Changes
  • These changes will occur automatically:
    • Member Type = Pending Member
    • New Member Class Status = Pending
    • Baptism Type and Status remain Not Specified
    • Join Type remains Unknown until completion of all requirements
  • The only requirement is the New Member Class (see Membership Requirements – New Member Class)
    • The Status must be Attended, Admin Approval, or Exempted Child (see Misc Notes)
  • Once the New Member Class requirement has been recorded the following changes will happen automatically
    • Church Member Status = Member
    • Joined Date = the date the New Member Class was attended
    • Join Type = Letter
  • Contribution Statements and Envelope Options
    • Select the appropriate Contribution Statement Type
    • Joint – married couples, one statement with contributions combined
    • Individual – singles or couples who want contributions recorded separately
    • Select the Envelope Option (if using mailed envelope sets or personalized envelopes)
    • Joint – married couples giving together
    • Individual – singles or couples who give separately
    • Save Changes
  • Notes: You can record when you request (and receive) a church letter in the Notes section on the Member Tab and use Query Builder to track this. You can also record any other membership related information that you might need to keep.
