The Groups Export was designed especially for organizations that have on-line registrations in which a person can make selections with quantities or must complete a form. The export creates a column for each selection with a number of items indicated. This export also displays small groups.
We have an organization set up for people to purchase meal tickets for Wednesday night Fellowship Supper. There are several options and a person can indicate how many of each type they wish to purchase.
Example: Child's Plate ($3.75), Deli Meal ($6.00), Chef's Salad ($6.00), etc.
The Groups Export is a spreadsheet indicating how many tickets of each type should be given to each person. Each meal type is a separate column with the number of tickets purchased showing beside each person's name.
This is very specific in its use and is not intended for small group management.
This can also be helpful if you are placing members in multiple groups and want to be able to sort by a specifc group and get sub-totals in Excel. Of course, the Group Member Management gives you those totals in another format.
