Welcome, The BVCMS Team
This setting will replace the former NewUserEmail. The difference is that we are now allowing new users to create their own password, instead of having a system-generated password created for them which they could later change.
Creating New Users
Now, when the Admin creates a new user, he will remain on that page where he will assign the appropriate roles and then click Save Changes and send the New User Welcome (see above) If you are merely making changes to the user’s permissions, you will just click Save Changes.
Read this article about how to email a link to allow those in your database to create their own My Data accounts.
Forgot Password
We have improved the way the Forgot Password link works. Because passwords were previously getting set by the system as two random words separated by a period, most users would want to change the password to something they would remember. Now when you click Forgot Password, if you enter the correct Username or email address, the system will send you a link which allows you to create the new password right there. Then, by clicking the BVCMS logo, you are logged in and on your Homepage. This will be so much easier and faster and will be just as secure. The link will be a one-use only link and will expire if not used within 24 hours. NOTE: If you click the link but do not set your password then, you will not be able to return to that email and use that link again. That counts as the one-click use.
